Method
How AsOf collects, checks and publishes — and what it never does.
1. Sources
For each asset we list official documents only: terms, MiCA white papers, attestations, contract-address pages. Each source has an owner.
2. Daily snapshots
Once a day each source is fetched politely (robots.txt, our own user agent, slow pace), turned into text and fingerprinted with SHA-256. Full copies stay in a private archive; we publish fingerprints, dates and short changed passages.
3. Proposals and human review
Software proposes sentences that may answer a passport question. A person approves, edits or rejects each one. Nothing is published without a verbatim quote that is present in the archived document.
4. Measurements from the chain
Supply, upgradeable contracts, admin keys, pause and blocking roles and reference feeds are read directly from the blockchain, with block number and time.
5. Labels, not scores
Confirmed: an issuer document states it. Claimed: the issuer says it on a web page. Unknown: the archived documents don't answer it. There are no scores and no recommendations.
Confirmed An issuer document states this.
Claimed The issuer says this on a web page; no independent document.
Unknown The documents we archive don't answer this yet.
Dates
A source's publication date and our fetch date are different fields. One never replaces the other.
Time-stamps with long-term validation (LTV)
Every day AsOf writes a manifest with the SHA-256 fingerprint of every archived document and has it time-stamped by two independent RFC 3161 time-stamping authorities (FreeTSA and DigiCert). The certificate chain and revocation lists are stored next to each token, so the date can still be checked years later, after certificates expire. Each manifest includes the hashes of the previous day's proof, so the proofs form a chain.
What AsOf never does
No trading, no wallets, no advice to buy, hold or sell, no ratings, no paid placements, no affiliate links. AsOf is an archive.
